In the position of human resources business advisor, Maureen partners with MRA member companies as a trusted advisor. She provides valuable and solutions-based best practice support and services. Some of her areas of expertise are employee relations, recruitment, leadership training, wage and salary administration, policy and procedure development, handbooks, safety, and performance management.
Expertise
Maureen came to MRA with over 25 years of human resources leadership experience. Her passion is building HR capacity, and she is adept at guiding organizations to achieve this critical goal. Her work history includes both nonprofit and profit positions in healthcare, education, service, philanthropy, and manufacturing. She has experience with union and nonunion companies as well as large and small organizations. Most recently Maureen has been an independent consultant working with Milwaukee Charter Schools. With her broad scope of HR skills, she is able to quickly assess members’ HR needs and make a positive impact. Certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Maureen also holds certification in mediation and conflict resolution.
Key Accomplishments
- Directed the development of a new HR department with the recruitment and retention of all staff for a start-up hospital--on time and under budget.
- Participated as HR consultant and advisor in the start up of one of the top performing charter high schools in Milwaukee, WI.
- Conducted leadership coaching and training resulting in improved employee retention and engagement.
- Designed and developed job-specific, competency based evaluation tools and training that drove overall personal and company wide achievements.
Education
Maureen earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology and organizational development from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois.
