As a rower for two years on the University of Wisconsin-Madison women’s crew team, Mary learned the value of hard work and perseverance. Members and customers describe her as smart, meticulous, and collaborative. In her position as compensation director, Mary helps organizations ensure that their compensation plans both align with their strategic goals and position their organizations appropriately in the marketplace.

Expertise

Mary is a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) with more than 25 years of experience in human resources and compensation management. She has worked with companies both large and small in industries as diverse as manufacturing, health care, and financial services. Immediately prior to joining MRA, Mary led a team of compensation professionals charged with maintaining internal and external pay equity for nearly 5,000 employees. Mary also holds a Senior Professional Human Resource (SPHR) designation.

Key Accomplishments

Mary has a proven track record of helping organizations to:

  • Developed, implemented and managed a variety of compensation programs (base pay, variable pay, sales incentive) that drive organizational departmental goals while maintaining compliance with government regulations.
  • Established competitive pay programs using local, regional, or national salary data, including developing salary structures and ranges for a variety of situations.
  • Established Americans with Disabilities (ADA)-compliant job descriptions and grades that appropriately represent skill levels, reinforce equity, and motivate employees to advance.

Education

Mary holds a master’s degree in business administration from Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and a bachelor’s degree in German literature from the University of Wisconsin- Madison.
