The word, “veteran,” can invoke many different feelings, especially when it comes to hiring. The veteran talent pool is often overlooked by civilian employers and while there may be reasons you haven’t had the chance to hire a veteran, this session will challenge you to look at who you might be missing out on. Experience on a veteran’s resume may not align directly with the skills you’ve outlined for the position you’re filling, however, if you take the time to have a conversation with a veteran candidate, you may unfold a long list of transferrable skills and strong leadership qualities that would make them a standout member of your team.
