Tornado season in the Mid-West is generally May through August. However, tornados have struck in April, September, October, and November.
Tornado Watch: Issued when the weather conditions are favorable to the formation of tornados, for example, during a severe thunderstorm.
Tornado Warning: Issued when a tornado funnel is sighted or indicated by weather radar.
