Every year there’s a must-have holiday gift. The 80s brought the Rubik’s Cube and Cabbage Patch Kids. Who could forget Tickle Me Elmo in 1996 or the coveted Razor Scooter of 2000? And this holiday season — enter Baby Yoda.

Baby Yoda

For those of you who may not be aware, Baby Yoda is a puppet and was introduced in the first episode of Star Wars: The Mandalorian, on Nov. 12, 2019, a web television series on Disney+. And ever since, the galaxy hasn’t been the same.

Fast forward a bit to today, when “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” opens in theaters across the country. It’s a film that Disney has been pushing as the end of the 42-year-old story of the “Star Wars” movies and everyone is clamoring to see if Baby Yoda will make an appearance. Why? Because there seems to be an endless devotion for this insanely adorable alien creature.

Vanity Fair describes him well. “The puppet, the realness of it, is a triumph of design. The inside of his sideways bunny ears is the color of a sunset on your happiest day. His supple green skin is the texture of pistachio pudding, and his bottomless black eyes are so massively dilated they can only see the goodness in us.” Everyone here will take one, please.

It's a good reminder for all of us - you never know what’s going to be wildly successful.

This has us thinking about that new thing at work you’re going to be introducing. Maybe it’s a new hire, a different benefit, a twist on an old perk or an updated policy. Is this the year for unlimited PTO, a four- day workweek, casual dress code, or paid volunteer days? How exciting would it be if it’s your company’s Baby Yoda?
