In addition to the requirements of the federal Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA), which provides protections to military services members and veterans from employment discrimination based on their military service, many states have enacted similar protections for members of the National Guard and other military service based on State Active Duty/State Call Up orders (those based on state statute and under the control of the governor).
