For years, HR professionals have lamented about NLRB rulings that picked apart workplace rules on social media, workplace conduct and confidentiality. Employers operated in fear that their civility policies prohibiting abusive language would be deemed unlawful, but not anymore. While employers still need to articulate the business reasons for their policies, the previous constraints have been lifted. Stay tuned for more developments in the NLRB arena in 2018.
