Employees who are eligible under this leave are employees who have been employed at this organization for more than 52 consecutive weeks and worked at least 1,000 hours during the preceding 52-week period.
Eligible employees taking bone marrow or organ donation leave may take up to six weeks of unpaid time off in a 12-month period to donate bone marrow and organs (e.g., kidneys, partial livers, partial lungs, partial pancreas, partial intestine). Bone marrow and organ donation leave may only be taken, however, for the period necessary for the employee to undergo the donation procedure and to recover from that procedure. Eligible employees may substitute other types of available paid or unpaid leave if they choose.
