These programs help students and young professionals gain valuable hands-on experience while offering employers a unique opportunity to scout and cultivate potential long-term employees.
65 percent of organizations responding to this survey are hiring or will hire an intern this year. The most popular area of the organization planning to hire interns is engineering, followed by manufacturing/ operations/quality, and accounting. The responses indicate that 91 percent of employers will offer only paid internships. Job duties, prior internships, years in school, and f lat pay rates for interns are the top factors that determine interns’ pay.
