The systems administrator's responsibilities will include network security, selecting and installing new applications, distributing software upgrades, monitoring daily activities, enforcing licensing agreements, developing a storage management program and providing for routine backups. Main contacts will be with systems programmers, application programmers and operators. The work may include the use of manuals, guidelines or other established procedures containing or relating to highly technical, scientific, legal, financial or other similarly complex matters that can be understood or interpreted only by those with advanced or specialized knowledge or skills.
