Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leading a group of Electrical Design Engineers who are responsible for developing, simulating, synthesizing, verifying, and documenting Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) designs with VHDL as the supported HDL.
- Leading FAA certification strategies related to the development of programmable logic device designs used in avionics with high design assurance levels.
- Applying high design assurance processes, methodologies, and tools to the design and verification of FPGA-based designs.
- Developing functional architectures and selecting target devices based on functional and performance requirements.
- Preparing and reviewing development lifecycle documentation, including: planning documents, requirements documents, VHDL modules, timing analyses, schematics, and bills of material.
- Providing guidance for design lifecycle events and items such as requirements management, design standards, design reviews, and component obsolescence.
- Achieving company goals associated with cost, quality, and delivery schedule as related to the team’s design activities.
- Managing project-level schedule, cost, and risk aspects associated with FPGA development and device integration into the final product.
