Mid- to upper-level, specialized, administrative computer work that involves taking responsibility for the evaluation, selection and management of databases. Codes, tests and implements physical databases by applying knowledge of database management systems. Will manage the appropriate access authorities for database users and applications that are bound to the database. Must have better-than-average technical problem-solving skills. Supports the backup of data and recovery on crashes. Manages and coordinates all information system activities. Provides and implements concepts for relational data modeling, performance and database administration. The work may include the use of manuals, guidelines or other established procedures containing or relating to highly technical, scientific, legal, financial or other similarly complex matters that can be understood or interpreted only by those with advanced or specialized knowledge or skills.
