Paid sick leave laws have been enacted that apply to certain federal contractors and subcontractors as well as employers located in, and/or have employees who work in, various U.S. states, counties and cities. To ensure compliance, you should review all paid sick leave laws that apply to your organization and modify your policy accordingly.
The suggested sample policy provisions may need to be modified based on one or more required sick leave policies or the requirements or your specific company’s plan design. Also, this sample policy includes the term “sick and safe” leave. You may remove “and safe” if your jurisdiction does not mandate it.
