Greetings fellow Human Resource Colleagues,

Welcome to the 2012-2013 Society of Human Resources Professionals (SHRP) season! Our Board has worked diligently to come up with new and relevant topics in the HR arena.

SHRP meetings will be once again held monthly from September through April at various locations throughout the Metro Milwaukee area. We strive to ensure that the topic areas will be counted towards PHR, SPHR or GPHR credits. This has become more challenging recently, however, so while we cannot always promise credits, we know you still appreciate learning about a wide variety of HR topics from very knowledgeable speakers and for a very reasonable cost.

We look forward to kicking off the season on September 13th at MRA with Safety as our topic. Whether you are in manufacturing or not, all HR professionals need to keep abreast of what OSHA is doing and all companies have obligations that they must meet under OSHA.

Sincerely,

Lori Neils
President
Society of Human Resource Professionals

The challenges facing HR and recruiting professionals are significantly different today than just a few years ago. According to a recent report by Deloitte Consulting, we are in the middle of “the talent paradox.” This means there is an abundance of willing workers, but a shortage of people with the necessary and desired skills. In order to find top talent in today’s current business climate, employers must adapt their recruiting efforts. This presentation will showcase best-in-class recruitment practices gathered from real world experience, in-depth interviews, and case-study research from some of the most innovative companies in recruiting today.
