As Compensation Director, Mary helps organizations ensure their compensation plans align with their strategic goals, and position them appropriately in the marketplace. Mary’s expertise extends to both the big picture and to focused program components.
Mary is a Certified Compensation Professional whose background includes more than 20 years of experience in human resources and compensation management. She has worked with companies both large and small; and industries as diverse as manufacturing, health care, and financial services. Immediately prior to joining MRA, Mary led a team of compensation professionals charged with maintaining internal and external pay equity for nearly 5,000 employees.
Mary has a proven track record of helping organizations to:
- Develop, implement and manage a variety of compensation programs (base pay, variable pay, sales incentive) that drive organizational departmental goals while maintaining compliance with government regulations.
- Establish competitive pay programs utilizing local, regional or national salary data which includes developing salary structures and ranges for a variety of situations.
- Create merit programs that are linked to performance plans for exempt and non-exempt levels that underscore the relationship between pay and performance.
- Establish ADA-compliant job descriptions and grades that appropriately represent skill levels, reinforce equity, and motivate employees to advance.
Education
Mary holds an M.B.A. from Marquette University and a B.A. in German literature from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Mary is also a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) through World at Work and holds her Senior Professional Human Resource (SPHR) designation.
