Quality/Lean
Lean is applying a laser-like customer focus and only doing those work steps that add value for the customer or the business. MRA works with manufacturing and nonmanufacturing companies on initiatives designed to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Results
Lean results in processes that will delight the customer; and studies have shown that Lean efforts can produce:

  • 40% increase in productivity.
  • 50% reduction in work errors.
  • 90% reduction in lead times.
  • 20% increase in available working capital.
  • 20% better space utilization.
  • Fewer safety issues.
  • Increased inventory runs.

Quality/Lean Offerings
MRA's Quality/Lean experts can assist you in starting, evaluating, or jump-starting your Lean efforts. We work with individuals, teams, and entire companies on defined projects as well as overall corporate initiatives. Specific tools used include:

  • 5S Orientation: 5S is the philosophy of reorganizing work so it's simpler, faster, and able to be managed visually. The 5S's are: Sort; Set in Order; Scrub; Standardize; and Sustain.
  • Value-Stream Mapping: A visual representation of the work process flow that indicates the steps and their value.
  • Non-Value-Added (NVA) Analysis: Identification of the process steps that add no value for the customer, in the eyes of the customer.
  • Visual Management: A method that allows the worker and the work group to quickly know what needs to be done in a process "at a glance."
