Assessments can help leaders make informed decisions about:
  • Selecting the right candidate for critical positions
  • Identifying the most qualified high potential employees for inclusion in a succession management program
  • Deciding on developmental priorities that leverages limited resources and maximizes an employee’s contribution
  • Promoting the right employee/manager into the right position
  • Offering executives coaching that is focused on the most critical needs
  • Guiding employees toward the right career choices
  • Assisting employees to make smooth, meaningful transitions into retirement
  • Selecting the right strategies for building an engaged workforce or changing a culture to align with the business strategy
  • Selecting approaches for improving team communication and performance
  • Creating an environment that supports different working styles

In short, assessments can help leaders to build effective teams, to select high potential candidates, to coach/develop leaders, and to improve cultures.

What do Assessments Measure?

MRA’s assessments can measure sales and leadership skills, personality and behavioral traits, behavioral style, thinking and reasoning skills, and occupational interests. Assessments can also pinpoint individual differences in leadership style and uncover behavioral preferences.

MRA offers assessments geared for all employee positions from entry level to the c-suite.

All MRA assessments include detailed reports that allow leaders to make quick informed decisions for effectively managing talent.

Selecting the Best Assessment Tool

Assessments should be used as only one approach or strategy for solving a talent management issue. Most talent issues are solved by combining multiple talent management systems (assessments, coaching, training, mentoring, management structure, etc.).

Getting a whole person picture of overall capabilities will require combining assessments with other information sources (interviews, references, job samples, etc.). In some cases, multiple assessment tools are used to get a more complete picture of a leader’s skills and personality traits.

Selecting the right assessment(s) requires answering the following questions:
  1. What is the purpose for using assessments?
  2. What decision is going to be made?
  3. What other information sources will be used to support a decision?
  4. What needs to be measured?

MRA can help in answering these questions.
