Illinois Smoke Free Toolkit

Effective January 1, 2008, Illinois employers must ban smoking in their facilities, post no smoking signs at every entrance and exit and remove all ashtrays. There are some exceptions such as in a private or semi-private room of a nursing home or long-term care facility and in hotel or motel sleeping rooms that are designated as smoking rooms. This toolkit has been assembled to help members as they comply with the law.
