IRS Issues Final Rules on Roth 401(k) Plans

The IRS has published final rules allowing employees to designate all or part of their 401(k) deferrals as Roth contributions. These deferrals are contributed on an after-tax basis, but the qualified distributions are tax-free. These deferrals are effective for taxable years beginning after December 31, 2005.
